the bloxham family! the time i spent in their cute little home seriously warmed my soul. the trust and vulnerability that goes into inviting someone (especially someone you don’t know, though i have photographed them before) into your home is not lost on me. it is a huge honor and every time i am invited into a home with my camera, my heart grows about 3 sizes, a la The Grinch.
what i felt most inspired by was the ease at which this family was at in my presence. it is so much easier to photograph someone who is comfortable in their own skin. haylee, with a newborn, went about her normal routine like it was nothing. breastfeeding on the go? sure! toddler jumping around like a wild man? great! she really just felt like a goddess to me. i don’t know how else to explain it.
the first time i met this family was when they were living in an apartment in Provo and had recently brought their firstborn home from the hospital. i was so excited when they invited me back after they welcomed their daughter into the mix, and i loved seeing the four of them in their home, watering their garden, and proudly posing next to the now-huge sunflowers they had once planted.
the incredible light coming through their big living room picture window was just icing on the cake. keep scrolling for possibly my favorite depiction of motherhood ever. you’ll know it when you see it.
