KAT + SOL // WEDDING

going back through my 2016 weddings and there is so much i didn't blog! HOW did i not blog this dreamy downtown philadelphia wedding?? maybe because i was busy with my 3 week old baby at the time of shooting this wedding, but ugh. excuses, excuses! nevertheless it is here now for all to enjoy. it really was one for the books! and these people were some of the sweetest people i've ever worked with. such a gorgeous wedding, such great people. i feel like i became part of the fam with these guys and that is my favorite thing everrrr. and there were SO many share-worthy photos but here i narrowed it down to some of my favs.

AVA + COLE // ELOPEMENT

i feel so lucky to have been able to be a part of ava and cole's intimate mountain wedding. we hiked to this gorgeous spot for the ceremony and then they held an intimate reception at a vacation home in park city. i had so much fun with these guys and am kinda obsessed with how these turned out. thanks again you two love birds!

ALECA + CHRIS // WEDDING

I had this wedding on my calendar for a full 365 days, so it was a happy day when September 3rd, 2016 finally arrived. Chris and Aleca were so great to work with. I had so much fun documenting their wedding day. They were married at Heritage Gardens in SLC, which (surprise, surprise) had such a gorgeous garden. It was perfect for cocktail hour, the cake cutting, and toasts. I was obsessed with the string lights and all the little details that made their day extra special. The bride and the groom both got their own cake; one with a beautiful fondant flower pattern, and one made to look like a golf bag complete with clubs. I love those personal touches! Thanks you two, can't wait to work together again in the future!

TRAVIS + BRENDA // WEDDING

i really enjoy photographing weddings, and usually do so as the sole photographer hired for the event. so i cover the candid shots, the formal portraits, and everything in between. for this wedding i was hired to only produce documentary shots for the couple. i didn't have to worry about any posing or group shots, or even borrowing the bride's shoes to set up a detail shot. i tried to remain completely invisible and only photograph things as they were.

travis and brenda gave me complete creative freedom to do whatever i wanted. it was the best job i could have been asked to do. being highly successful photographers themselves, they had a few photographers running around their wedding focusing on different things (from medium format film photography to large format film portraits, to video) so i'm pretty sure it was one of the best documented weddings on record. it was an honor to be a part of it and i think the images perfectly reflect what i saw and felt on that day. i hope you can see it and feel it, too.
